Jamshedpur, July 26: An unidentified gang of criminals launched a gun-shot attack on the house of a convoy driver at Jawahar Nagar under the Mango thana area in the small hours on Wednesday.

Though no one was injured in the firing, the family members are apprehensive of unseen danger following the incident and have reported the matter to the police.

While carrying out the spot inspection, the police recovered four empty cartridges from one of the rooms where the convoy driver Mohammed Saqeel would sleep.

Incidentally, the convoy driver was not at home and away in Asansol when the house was attacked. During the attack, the family members, including four women got extremely frightened and screamed for help from the neighbours.

Mango thana OC, Vinay Kumar confirmed about the incident and said that the attackers would be arrested soon.

“We have picked up several suspects for interrogation and are also trying to collect CCTV footage from the area. The attackers will be in the police net soon, ” said Kumar while talking to lagatar24.com.

A police officer pointed out apparently the attackers wanted to kill the convoy driver but the reason behind it could be known only when they are identified and caught.
