80 stranded tourists at Telangana’s Muthyala Dhara waterfalls rescued

Mulugana, July 27: 80 tourists who were stranded in the Muthyala Dhara waterfalls in Mulugu district in Telangana after the water flow surged the previous day were rescued by a team from the National Disaster Response Force early on Thursday, police stated.

The rescue effort that was initiated overnight has been finished, and all of the tourists are said to be in good health, according to the police.

“Rescue work has been completed. A total of 80 stranded tourists have been rescued from the Mutyala Dhara waterfall. We verified with every group and no one is left behind now. They have been given water and medical services. One boy got a minor scorpion bite and he has been treated. 90 per cent of tourists’ health is fine,” said, Gaush Alam, Superintendent of Police, Mulugu.

A video posted by Mulugu SP, PRO depicts tourists receiving medical care and other basic food supplies.

Earlier, SP claimed that they had spoken to the visitors on the phone and advised them to avoid the water stream and conserve battery life.

In addition to NDRF, the District Disaster Response Force and local police participated in the rescue effort.

The Indian Meteorological Department predicted significant rainfall on Monday for Telangana during the upcoming three days, from July 25 to 27.

Following significant rainfall on Wednesday, the Mahabubabad district of Telangana experienced flooding in numerous areas.
