Dhanbad July 26: Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro inter-house group song competition began on Wednesday with paying tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil War through patriotic songs.
Dressed in vibrant tri-coloured costumes, students from all six houses showcased their exceptional musical talents.
Raavi House instilled fervour with the rendition of ‘Hum bhavishya hain hum hain bhavi bharat ki pehchan’. Chenab House mesmerized with ‘Chitrakar tu chitra bana de un sainik matwalon ka’ and Ganga House presented a powerful performance of ‘Chal pade kadam jis ore’ while Jhelum House intonated ‘Utho apne watan ke liye bazi lga do’.
Jamuna House sang ‘Koti-Koti kanthon ne gaya’, while Sutlej House enthralled with ‘Suraj badle chanda badle’.
Sutlej House emerged winner followed closely by Chenab House on the second position and Ganga House on the third position.
Jai Prakash Sinha, Nimesh Rathore and Priyanka were the judges.
Dr A. S. Gangwar, principal, DPS Bokaro, commended the enthusiastic participation of students and appreciated the efforts put forth by Abhishek Anand and Kumari Kripa, for conducting an inspirational show.
Dr Gangwar emphasized that such competitions play a vital role in fostering teamwork, creativity and confidence among students.
On this occasion, the principal felicitated Phool Kumar Choubey, a Kargil Warrior who is presently a senior physics faculty of the school, with a bouquet acknowledging the selfless contributions of the brave soldiers for the motherland.
