Ranchi, July 27: Suvir Nath, Editor of “Oh My God-2”, is excited to see the film released next month after several hiccups.
‘OMG 2’ is an Amit Rai directorial, which is the sequel to Umesh Shukla’s superhit satirical comedy ‘OMG’, which starred Paresh Rawal in the leading role. While ‘OMG’ revolved around the spiritual institutions in the country, ‘OMG 2’ reportedly sheds light on sex education. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Akshay Kumar, Govind Namdeo, and Yami Gautam in the leading roles.
After a decade and half of experience as an editor he has switched to direction and production. His first short film “Bol Golu Bol” participated in many national and international short film festivals and was telecast on Doordarshan. He has directed corporate films and ads for some prestigious brands. Currently he is producing a full-length documentary film on social entrepreneurs in the country
Suvir Nath did his graduation in English Literature from Delhi University and later pursued Post Graduate Diploma from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune specializing in Film and T.V Editing.
He editorial works spreads across Films, T.V, Ads, Documentaries, Short films, Web Series, Corporate Films and Music Videos.
His first feature length film as an editor “Road to Sangam” received 20 national and international awards.
“Rewind” A short film edited by him opened at the prestigious Locarno International Film Festival and won Grand Jury prizes at Seattle and Victoria film festivals. “Rewind” is the World’s first true reverse film and has been screened at more than 100 International film festivals including Montreal, Tampere, Brussels, Palm springs and Milano. It was the first Indian short to have an international dvd release by Indieflix and was first Indian short to be released worldwide digitally by iTunes USA. The film was in the Oscar long list and was released theatrically by PVR in India. Currently the film has been released on Omeleto, world biggest online Short Film site.
“When The Sun Didn’t Rise That Day”, A documentary dealing 1984 Sikh Riots and edited by him was awarded Best Investigative documentary in National Film Awards, 2018.
“Teen Adhyay” a short film edited and co- produced by him was premiered at IFFI (International Film festival of India), 2021 at Goa.
He received award for “Best Editor” for his feature film titled “Vartak Nagar” at Jharkhand International Film Festival, 2019.
