Dhanbad Aug 8: Panic prevails here after bike-borne unidentified criminals sprayed bullets on a cyber cafe in Azad Nagar under the Bhuli outpost (OP) of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

No one was injured in the firing. The bullet hit the wall of the cyber cafe. The police recovered three rounds of empty cartridges from the spot.

After getting information, DSP (law and order) Arvind Kumar Binha, Bank More police station officer-in-charge Prabhat Ranjan Pandey and other police officers reached the spot and began the investigation of the firing incident.

DSP  Arvind Kumar Binha told media persons that police are screening CCTV footage of the market. The criminals would be arrested soon, he added.

The cyber cafe, namely Jaya Cyber operator Parvej Alam told the police that at around 2 noon two criminals covering their faces rushed in on a bike,  fired several rounds on the shop from nearby and fled away at speed.

The Cyber cafe operator informed the police that Wasseypur gang operators Prince Khan and Gopi Khan had demanded extortion of Rs 3 lakh which he refused to give.  “Both the criminals have done firing on shop through their goons to create terror,” he told the police.
