Jamshedpur, Aug 10: Several districts across Jharkhand are expected to witness light to moderate rain today, said a Meteorological office forecast.
IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre also hinted at thunder and lightning at a few isolated places.
Meanwhile, the cyclonic circulation over north Bangladesh was today lying over northeast Bihar and its neighbourhood extending up to 7.6 km above the mean sea level tilting southwards with height.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was passing through Amritsar, Chandigarh, Najibabad, Gorakhpur, Supaul, Balurghat and thence eastwards towards Manipur.
Light to moderate rain was observed at several places over the state during the past 24 hours.
Monsoon activity was normal over the state during the past 48 hours.
Jharkhand as a whole is still facing a rainfall deficit of 36 per cent.
