Jamshedpur, Aug 21: Most parts of Jharkhand are expected to witness light rain today.
Thunderstorms and lightning are also likely to occur at isolated places over the state today.
Monsoon activity was weak over Jharkhand during the past 24 hours. Statistics revealed that light to moderate rain was experienced at a few places during the past 24 hours.
The low-pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh and its neighbourhood lies over central parts of north Madhya Pradesh and an associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Kota, centre of Low-Pressure Area over central parts of north Madhya Pradesh, Raipur, Gopalpur and thence east-southeastwards to east-central Bay of Bengal extending upto 3.1 km above mean sea level.
Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over north-west and north-eastern parts of the state tomorrow, Tuesday.
The Met Centre has also issued a forecast of heavy rain at isolated places over north-eastern parts of the state on August 23, Wednesday.
