New Delhi, Aug 22: During an encounter on Tuesday, an accused in the ethnic violence in Nuh, Haryana, was shot in the leg by the police and arrested. The district’s Tauru region is where the incident happened.
A 25,000 rupee bounty was placed on the culprit, Washim, and a number of murder and robbery charges were filed against him.
On the Aravallis, at Tauru, Washim was detained. For treatment, he was brought in to Nalhad Medical Center.
Five cartridges and a country-made pistol known as a desi katta were found in the accused’s possession.
In Nuh, there have been two police encounters within a week.
Earlier, two suspected rioters who were involved in the unrest in Nuh were detained on the nights of August 15 and 16 following a brief altercation in which one of the suspects was shot in the leg.
