Jamshedpur, Aug 23: In yet another incident of blood shedding in the Naxal-infested West Singhbhum’s Goelkera, a 45-year-old man was found lying bludgeoned to death on Wednesday morning, making this to be the third murder during the past four days there.
Identified as Rasia Pradhan, the deceased was a local resident and would run a business of the sale-purchase of goats in Goelkera and adjoining areas.
Though earlier two killings of villagers that took place in Goelkera on Sunday and Saturday were Naxal-sponsored, the murder of Saria Pradhan is said to be due to personal enmity.
The bludgeoned body of Saria Pradhan was found lying at Bila Chowk near Saiburu Chowk this morning.
West Singhbhum SP, Ashutosh Shekhar confirmed it not to be a case of Naxal-sponsored killing.
“The murder victim was a goat trader and might have been killed either in a sequel to a personal enmity or for falling victim to any criminal act. Investigation into the reason behind the murder is on,” said Ashutosh Shekhar while talking to lagatar24.com.
The consecutive murder of three local residents in a Naxals-infested area has triggered sensation in the Goelkera thana area and beyond.
Moreover, the killings are taking place at a time when the police and paramilitary forces are engaged in combating the Naxals to flush the latter out of Kolhan and Porahat forest divisions where they have strategically entered into since January this year.
