Jamshedpur, Aug 28: Monsoon activity is expected to remain weak over Jharkhand for the next three to four days as the trough has drifted towards the north.
The western end of the monsoon trough at mean sea level was running along the foothills of the Himalayas and its eastern end was passing through Gorakhpur, Darbhanga, Balurghat and thence eastwards to Manipur.
Weathermen said no significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand and hence no alerts have been issued for the next few days.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was experienced at isolated places over the state during the past 24 hours.
Monsoon activity was weak over the state for the past 24 hours. The highest rainfall recorded was 18.2 mm at Rajmahal (Sahibganj). The highest maximum temperature of 34.5°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.8°C was recorded at Ranchi.
Statistics revealed that Jharkhand was still facing a rain deficit of 35 per cent. Against a normal of 768 mm, the state has so far received rainfall of 501 mm.
