Jharkhand’s rain deficit drops to 29 percent, rain forecast at many places today

Jamshedpur, Sept 23: The shower sop during the past couple of days brought down the state’s rain deficit to 29 per cent, revealed statistics of IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

Against a normal of 970 mm, the state has so far received rainfall of 688 mm, a deficit of 29 per cent.

Except for Sahibganj, Godda and all three districts of East Singhbhum rest of the 19 districts were still figuring in the rain losers list.

Meanwhile, Ranchi Met Centre predicted light to moderate rainfall at many places over Jharkhand today.

The Met centre also predicted heavy rain at a few isolated places in north- eastern Jharkhand today.

The Low-Pressure Area over Jharkhand and neighbourhood has become less marked.

However, the associated cyclonic circulation lies over west Jharkhand and neighbourhood and extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level was passing through Jaisalmer, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Gaya, Digha and thence east-south-eastwards to Northeast Bay of Bengal.

Another trough runs from Sikkim to south Madhya Maharashtra across Bihar, cyclonic circulation over west Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada between 1.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level.
