Jamshedpur, Sept 29: Alumni of KMPM School’s 1977-81 batch on Thursday paid homage to Ganeshan Vedagiri who suddenly died at Dar-e-Salaam in Tanzania on September 21.

As many as 11 former co-students organised a condolence meeting in the school premises last evening in memory of their childhood friend’s sudden demise where they paid tribute to the departed soul.

Vedagiri (60) collapsed while going to take a bath at his house in Dar-e-Salaam on that fateful day.  He was rushed to a local health hub where declared as ‘brought dead’.

Though apparently healthy and hefty, Vedagiri, a top executive in the Alfa Group of companies, was said to have died of low blood pressure.

His son Anant brought his body to Bangalore where it was cremated on September 25.

Son of the head priest of the Bistupur-based Saastha Temple, Vedagiri had worked for five years in Tata Cummins before switching over to the Alfa Group of companies.

“I have lost a very good friend of mine. Vedagiri’s demise at the early age of 60 is an irreparable loss for me because despite living far away in Tanzania, he was close to my heart and also to many others due to his amicable behaviour, ” observed Ram Gyani Shahi, one of the condolers while talking to lagatar24.com.
