Dhanbad, Sept 29: Doctors, district administrative officers, lawyers and common men on Friday morning ran to create alertness among people for heart care.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) district chapter and Rotary Club of Dhanbad had jointly organized the ‘Run’ which started at Randhir Verma Chowk at 7 am and terminated at Lubicircular Road based Dhanbad Club.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Barun Ranjan flagged off the ‘Run’ in which over 350 people from different sectors participated. The DC, Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr Chandrabhanu Pratap, IMA treasurer Dr Rakesh Inder Singh, Rotary Club of Dhanbad president Dr US Prasad, Dr Major Chandan, Dr MK Jha were the prominent participants.
Dr Rakesh Inder Singh said that World Heart Day is celebrated every year on September 29. “ This is an important annual event that aims to raise awareness among people about heart health and how to take preventive steps to check cardiovascular diseases,” he said.
After the completion of ‘Run’ at Dhanbad club, the doctors advised the participants to change their lifestyle and start doing some exercise, yoga or running daily.
“ This year’s theme is ‘use heart and know heart’. So we have decided to make maximum people aware about it and alert them to take care of heart health,” said Dr Singh.
