Ranchi, Sep 29: Rajesh Kumar, a constable of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) CoBRA Battalion, lost his life in an IED explosion in Chaibasa yesterday. The Governor of Jharkhand, CP Radhakrishnan and the state’s Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, paid tribute to him on Friday.

Jharkhand Governor Radhakrishnan promised that Naxalism would soon be eradicated from the state.

“CM and I are continuously consulting each other. Soon, a big plan will be implemented. We are sure that Naxalism will be rooted out from Jharkhand soon,” Jharkhand Governor said.

After paying homage to the soldier, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand stated that a CRPF jawan had sacrificed his life in the Naxal operation, emphasizing that his sacrifice would not be in vain.

“A CRPF jawan lost his life during the Naxal operation. It is a matter of sadness for us but a matter of pride for us that our soldier sacrificed his life to make our state Naxal free. His sacrifice will not go in vain,” Jharkhand CM Soren said.

IED explosions occurred on Thursday during an anti-insurgency operation in the Tonto Thana area in West Singhbhum, injuring two CRPF personnel including an inspector-ranked officer.

Constable Rajesh Kumar, who passed away, and Inspector Bhupendra Kumar, who was injured, were both members of the CRPF’s 209 Battalion, officials stated.
