Ranchi, Oct 1: Under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, Ranchi DC Rahul Kumar Sinha and other departmental officials and personnel collectively did Shramdaan on Sunday.

For this work, the Collectorate premises were divided into five zones, in which departmental officials did the cleaning work in the respective zones.

Addressing the media on the occasion, DC said that under the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign, all the officers and personnel of the district did Shramdaan at various places. The primary goal is to keep the environment clean around them. He also appealed to the general public to participate in cleanliness efforts so that the capital’s environment can be preserved from pollution.

Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign has been started across the country for Shramdaan. At the national level, every year October 2 is celebrated as Swachh Bharat Diwas to transform cleanliness as a mass movement, which is a tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. The main theme of the Swachhta Hi Seva 2023 campaign is ‘Garbage Free India’, with a primary focus on cleanliness and the welfare of sanitation workers.
