Deoghar, Oct 1: Under the Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Scheme, a total of 45 pilgrims of the Christian community from the Deoghar district are getting a chance to visit Goa where more than 250 churches are visit -worthy. The process of getting the application for pilgrimage has started. A total of 45 pilgrims from the Deoghar district will be selected on the first come first serve basis under the Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Scheme.
According to the information issued by the district administration after receiving the instructions from the state government, the process of getting applicationd has started. The beneficiaries will be selected from all the blocks of the district.
The selection of the pilgrims will be done by the District Management Committee.
The basis of selection will be the first come first serve. This means that those who are interested will have to apply as soon as possible. It is mandatory for all the pilgrims to undergo medical examination and arrangements for the same will be available at the nearest community health center.
Talking to Lagatar24.com, Nodal Officer Santosh Kumar said that the departure date of the yatra has not been decided yet, however, in the first phase of the scheme, the process of taking the applications of pilgrims is being done, although the last date for taking the applications has been formally kept as October 5 but there might be a possibility of extending the last date for one or two days.
Before this, arrangements had been made by the state government for the pilgrimage of followers of Hinduism and Islam. Those taking advantage of the scheme must be a native of the state and above 60 years of age as well as belong to the BPL category.
