BBMKU inter-college basketball: Sindri College, Gurunanak College emerge champs

Dhanbad, Oct 13: Host Sindri College and  Gurunanak College Dhanbad won the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively of the fourth Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) Inter-College Basketball Championship

In the boys’ team championship final, Sindri College defeated RVS College Chas Bokaro by 83-64 points while in the girls’ team event Gurunanak College beat host Sindri College in an exciting encounter.

In the final ceremony, FCI Sindri unit head Vijay Choudhary was the chief guest and he gave away trophies to the winning teams. Earlier, BBMKU Proctor  Sudhinta Sinha had inaugurated the championship.

University selectors, Dr DK Singh and Dr Rajiv Pradhan were also present during the championship and highly praised the performance of the participating students of different colleges.

The selectors said that the teams of BBMKU for the inter-university tournament would be selected on the basis of the performance of students in this championship.

Sindri College principal Dr KK Pathak presided over the function and Prof Anil Ashutosh proposed a vote of thanks.

Dr Nitu Gaurav, Dr Sanat Kumar, Pankaj Kumar Singh (Sindri Sports Association), Niraj Gupta, Akash Kumar Rawat, Aryan Kumar Thakur and Prem Kumar Rawani played major roles in conducting the inter-college championship successfully.
