New Delhi, Oct 14: One week following the commencement of the Israel-Hamas War, the death toll in the conflict stands at 3,200, with Israeli casualties surpassing 1,300 and Gaza authorities reporting over 1,900 Palestinian fatalities.

According to the United Nations humanitarian organization OCHA, tens of thousands of civilians moved southward in Gaza after Israel issued a 24-hour evacuation order for the northern parts of the territory.

On Friday, the Israeli military acknowledged conducting temporary raids into Gaza with the goal of countering militants but emphasized that these actions did not signify the start of a ground invasion. According to Hamas’ media office, airstrikes targeted southbound vehicles, resulting in the deaths of more than 70 individuals.

Numerous protests took place throughout the Middle East, with significant gatherings in countries like Jordan and Bahrain, where thousands of people came together to express their support. During this crisis, the Palestinian representative to the United Nations appealed to Secretary-General Guterres, urging him to take resolute action and describing the situation as a “crime against humanity.”

Egypt’s President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, underscored the importance of the enduring presence of the Palestinian people in their homeland as neighbouring Arab countries rejected the plea for a safe passage for Palestinians from Gaza.

Following the electricity cutoff in Gaza, Israel is set to suspend internet services in the region starting today.
