Chandil, Oct 15: Acting on the information received by Seraikela-Kharsawan District Superintendent of Police Dr Vimal Kumar and Chandil Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Kapali OP in-charge Sandeep Kumar has arrested notorious criminal Vijay Tirkey with weapons and cartridges.
Vijay Tirkey, a wanted criminal, was arrested when the SP received information that some criminals were gathered in the Tamulia, Karadara Jungle of Kapali. All of them were heavily armed with guns and ammunition and posed a threat of carrying out a major incident.
Chandil’s sub-divisional police officer Sanjay Singh gave this information in the press conference.
SDPO Sanjay Singh revealed that, as per the directives of the SP, Kapali O.P. initiated a crackdown with the armed forces. Notably, the notorious criminal Vijay Tirkey was apprehended and was in possession of a country-made pistol, live ammunition, and a Pulsar motorcycle.
Vijay Tirkey is a professional hitman and was the main shooter in the Sun Kalindi murder case that occurred in Dobo on March 24. He had been evading arrest in this case. It was also mentioned that Vijay has prior records of murder and several other heinous crimes. His arrest is a significant achievement for the police.
