Dhanbad, Oct 18: The faculty members of BIT Sindri have hailed the Manki Munda Scholarship scheme of the state government and said that such a step would promote girls’ participation in technical education.

The state government has launched the Manki Munda Scholarship scheme of Rs30,000 for girl students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and Rs 15,000 per annum for those pursuing a diploma course.

The scholarship scheme is named after freedom fighter Manki Munda and will be implemented from the academic year of 2023-24.

BIT Sindri senior faculty member and Career Development Centre (CDC) chairman Dr Ghanshyam while hailing the scheme said that such a step of the Department of Higher and Technical Education would help in increasing and encouraging girls’ participation in technical education.

“We extend our gratitude to the secretary and director of the Department of Higher and Technical Education for launching the novel initiative. Their dedication and perseverance have paved the way for a brighter future for girls in Jharkhand, providing them with equal opportunities to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state”, he said.

“On behalf of the entire community, we express our thanks and appreciation to the Chief Minister, Hemant Soren for his vision and commitment to empower girls through education. His support and approval for this historic initiative will undoubtedly transform the educational landscape in Jharkhand, allowing more girls to explore and excel in the field of technical education”, he added further.

BIT Sindri faculty members observed that these initiatives would not only bridge the gender gap in technical education but also send a powerful message to society about the value of women’s empowerment. By investing in girls’ education and providing them with opportunities to excel, Jharkhand is taking a significant stride towards building a progressive and equitable society.
