Guwahati, Oct 19: Four drug peddlers, two of whom were women, were apprehended by the Assam Police’s Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday in the Khanapara neighbourhood of Guwahati along with various narcotics substances.
The STF raided beneath an overbridge in the Khanapara region after receiving a tip, according to the police.
Partha Sarathi Mahanta, DIG (STF) stated that the STF team apprehended four drug dealers, two of whom were women.
“The STF team recovered and seized 86 vials containing heroin weighing 119.5 grams, Rs 11,100 in cash and 3 mobile phones from them,” the DIG said.
Sunabanu Begum (36), Dhon Rabha (27), Ainul Sheikh (27), and Ketep Boro (44) were the peddlers that were apprehended.
The individuals involved in drug trafficking, along with the confiscated items, were handed over to authorities stationed at the Basistha police station.
