Dhanbad, Oct 20: Dhanbad police have arrested two inter-state criminals with arms near Dhanbad railway station while they were planning crime, intended to be committed during the Durga Puja festival.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar giving this information to media persons today in the afternoon said that both the criminals identified as Raju Mishra and Dara Singh Ghatwar, residents of Bhuli township were arrested in the Chhaigada area under the Bank More police station area while plotting crime.
The police recovered two country made pistols and cartridges from their possession on the spot.
“In the interrogation, the criminals informed that they had bought pistol from the Munger district of Bihar. Raju Mishra had been in Munger jail. After coming out, he planned to loot late-night passengers at Dhanbad railway station and were arrested while planning”, said SSP to media persons.
SSP informed that the police administration has made massive arrangements to ensure a crime-free Durga Puja festival this time. On Thursday police held a flag march in different areas of the district to restore the confidence of people.
