Ranchi: The investigation into the 34th National Games Scam has been reopened, with whistleblower Pankaj Yadav summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for questioning and providing factual details related to the case. This comes after Yadav, along with petitioner Surya Singh Besra, opposed the CBI’s closure report by filing a protest petition in the CBI court, demanding a reinvestigation.
Yadav pointed out that the CBI neither consulted him nor spoke to members of the Assembly Committee that had flagged massive corruption and irregularities in the 34th National Games in its inquiry report. Acting on Yadav’s petition, the CBI court ordered the agency to reinvestigate the case from all angles. In compliance with the court’s directive, the CBI has now resumed its probe into the procurement of sports materials and the construction of mega sports infrastructure for the National Games.
