Ramgarh: A complete shutdown was observed in Chitarpur, Ramgarh, on Tuesday following the alleged abduction of a Hindu girl by a youth from a particular community, who reportedly took her to Kerala. The shutdown, called by Hindu organizations, received widespread support, with NH-23 and nearby markets remaining closed.

On Monday, shops in Chitarpur Chatti Bazaar, Railway Overbridge, and Rajrappa Mod voluntarily shut down in protest. Demonstrators took to the streets, blocking NH-23 at several points.

MP Joins Protest, Demands Immediate Action

Amid the protest, Giridih MP Chandraprakash Chaudhary arrived at the site along with his supporters and joined the demonstration. Police officials, including Rajrappa Station in-charge Naveen Prakash Pandey, urged protesters to lift the blockade, but the Hindu community remained firm on their demands.

After intense discussions, the administration assured the return of the girl, leading to the removal of the blockade at around 9 AM.

‘Hindu Society Will Not Tolerate Exploitation’ – MP Chandraprakash Chaudhary

Addressing the gathering, MP Chandraprakash Chaudhary stated, “Any form of oppression against the Hindu community will not be tolerated. We will oppose all forms of injustice. This is just a symbolic protest, but if needed, we will launch a state-wide agitation across Jharkhand.”

The protest witnessed the participation of a large number of Hindu community members, reflecting widespread concern over the incident.
