Ranchi: BJP State President Babulal Marandi has launched a scathing attack on Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, stating that the CM, who boasts about hitting a six on every ball, now appears to be getting hit wicket. Marandi cited the CAG report, which, according to him, has exposed the financial mismanagement and lack of strong willpower in the Hemant Soren-led government.

Unaccounted ₹19,000 Crore Raises Corruption Concerns

Marandi pointed out that the Jharkhand government has failed to submit the utilization certificates for approximately ₹19,000 crore, raising strong suspicions of large-scale corruption. He criticized mismanagement in contingency withdrawals and improper budget provisions, which have placed a heavy financial burden on the people of Jharkhand. The state has now accumulated a debt exceeding ₹1.10 lakh crore, he claimed.

Welfare Funds Not Fully Utilized Despite Widespread Poverty

Despite widespread poverty in the state, the government failed to fully utilize allocated funds for welfare schemes, depriving needy beneficiaries of essential aid. Marandi alleged that in Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes, particularly in social security pensions and scholarship programs, there were irregularities, misuse of funds, and payments to fake or ineligible beneficiaries.

Health Sector Faces Major Crisis

Criticizing the state’s healthcare system, Marandi highlighted that:

• 61% of doctor positions remain vacant, and 45% of posts in medical colleges are unfilled.

• Only 20% of allocated funds for medicine and equipment procurement have been utilized.

• 66-94% of medicines are unavailable at sample testing centers.

• Operation theaters lack 48-67% of essential equipment.

CAG Report Exposes Governance Failures

The CAG report, according to Marandi, serves as a mirror to the misgovernance under the Hemant Soren government. He urged the state administration to ensure transparency and accountability towards the people. He stressed the need for better budgetary management and improved coordination between government departments to prevent such financial irregularities.
