Ranchi: Jharkhand is set to witness another spell of heavy rainfall as the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for several districts. According to the IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by rain are expected across various parts of the state, with the conditions likely to persist until August 22.
Heavy Rain Predicted on August 21 and 22
On August 21, heavy rainfall is forecast for Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, Sahibganj, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, and Koderma. The following day, August 22, heavy showers are likely in Deoghar, Dumka, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, Sahibganj, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.
Thunderstorm and Lightning Risk
A yellow alert has been issued for Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Gumla. The department has warned of strong winds moving at 30–40 km/h, along with a possibility of lightning strikes. Meanwhile, fluctuations in temperature continue, with Godda recording a maximum of 37.5°C and Latehar noting a minimum of 20°C in the past 24 hours.
