Ranchi: In a major relief in the liquor scam case, jailed officials Sudhir Kumar and Sudhir Kumar Das have been granted bail by the ACB Court. This comes after co-accused Vinay Chaubey had earlier received the same benefit under Section 187(2) of BNSS, as the charge sheet was not filed within the stipulated time.
Court’s Bail Conditions
The court has imposed strict conditions for their release. Both accused must inform the court before leaving the state while on bail and are prohibited from changing their mobile numbers during the trial. Additionally, they are required to furnish two personal bonds of ₹25,000 each.
Reason Behind Bail
The ACB failed to file a charge sheet even after 92 days of Vinay Chaubey’s arrest. Owing to this delay, both Sudhir Kumar and Sudhir Das were able to secure bail, taking advantage of the provisions under BNSS.
