Ranchi: Under the directives of the state government and the guidance of Minister Sudivya Kumar, Ranchi Municipal Corporation has begun preparations for the Chhath Mahaparv. A massive cleaning drive is underway at all ponds and ghats in the city to ensure a clean and safe environment for devotees during the festival.
Tunki Toli Pond Inspection
Municipal Administrator Sushant Gaurav inspected Tunki Toli Pond in Ward 10, reviewing the sanitation arrangements and issuing strict instructions to complete all work within three days. He directed that the pond surroundings be cleaned thoroughly, bleaching powder and alum spraying begin immediately, and overgrown grass and branches be trimmed. Steps are to be repaired, grills painted, and boundaries constructed swiftly. Deep areas must be cordoned off with bamboo and ribbons, adequate lighting installed, and security arrangements strengthened. He also instructed for the removal of encroachments from RIMS Trauma Centre to Kokar Road.
Tiril Pond Review and Health Precautions
At Tiril Pond in Ward 9, the administrator ordered the cleaning campaign to be conducted on a war footing and completed within three days. Drain cleaning and civil works must be finished on time. Gaurav also inspected the nearby Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandir, checked medicine availability, and instructed doctors and health workers to remain alert during the festival period. He emphasized that roads leading to ponds must remain free of encroachments, debris, or construction materials to ensure a clean and safe environment for devotees.
Deputy Administrator Ravindra Kumar, Assistant Administrator Chandradeep Kumar, Mukesh Ranjan, municipal managers, engineering teams, and ward supervisors were present during the inspections.
