Ranchi: Jharkhand is in the grip of a cold wave, with the weather department forecasting a drop of 2–3°C in minimum temperatures over the next two days.

Cold Wave Alert for 13 Districts

An alert has been issued for 13 districts including Ranchi, Lohardaga, Koderma, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Gumla, Khunti, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, and Latehar. On Monday, Jagannathpur in West Singhbhum recorded the highest maximum temperature at 23.2°C, while Lohardaga registered the lowest minimum at 4.1°C.

For Ranchi and surrounding areas, the forecast is as follows:

  • January 6: Max 21°C, Min 7°C

  • January 7: Max 22°C, Min 8°C

  • January 8: Max 22°C, Min 9°C

  • January 9: Max 23°C, Min 9°C
