New Delhi: A helicopter operated by government-owned aviation service provider Pawan Hans made an emergency landing in the sea near Mayabunder in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Tuesday morning. All passengers and crew members were rescued safely.
Emergency Landing After Technical Glitch
According to reports, the helicopter took off from Sri Vijaya Puram, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, at 8:45 am and crashed into the sea around 9:30 am. A senior official from the Civil Aviation Department said preliminary findings suggest that a technical fault forced the pilot to carry out a crash landing in the sea.
Seven People Onboard, All Rescued
The helicopter was carrying two pilots and five passengers, including three men, one woman, and one child. Fortunately, all seven individuals were rescued safely and admitted to RP Hospital in Mayabunder for medical examination and observation.
Recent Aviation Tragedy in Jharkhand
The incident comes shortly after a tragic air ambulance crash in Simaria, Chatra district of Jharkhand. The aircraft, which was en route from Ranchi to Delhi on Monday night, crashed, killing all seven people onboard, including a patient.
