Ranchi: Weather conditions in Jharkhand are set to change with the IMD issuing a yellow alert for March 27 and 28, forecasting thunderstorms, rainfall, strong winds, lightning, and possible hailstorms across several districts.
Strong Winds And Hailstorm Warning Across Districts
According to the India Meteorological Department, wind speeds of 50–60 km/h are expected on March 27 in districts including Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Gumla, Khunti, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and Simdega.
There is also a possibility of hailstorms and lightning in several areas. Meanwhile, districts such as Sahibganj, Pakur, Godda, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, and Giridih may experience winds of 40–50 km/h along with thunderstorms.
Similar Conditions Likely On March 28 And Beyond
The IMD has indicated that similar weather conditions may persist on March 28, although the impact may be slightly less intense in north-western districts. Winds of 30–40 km/h are expected along with rain and thunderstorms.
On March 29, partly cloudy skies with isolated rainfall and thunder are expected in north-eastern regions. Light to moderate rainfall may continue in eastern and central Jharkhand on March 30 and 31.
Advisory Issued For Public Safety
In Ranchi, partly cloudy skies with light rain or thunderstorms are expected on March 27, with temperatures likely to range between 19°C and 34°C.
The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious, avoid open areas during storms, stay away from trees and electric poles, and take necessary precautions against lightning and strong winds.
