New Delhi: The election dispute of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association has reached the Board of Control for Cricket in India Ombudsman and Ethics Officer, retired Justice Arun Mishra. Acting on a complaint alleging irregularities, the ethics officer has directed JSCA to submit its response within four weeks.

Allegations of Rule Violations and Fraud

The complaint claims that the JSCA elections were conducted without implementing Supreme Court directives and the recommendations of the Lodha Committee. It also alleges multiple irregularities, including the inclusion of allegedly ineligible voters. The notice was issued following a reminder submitted earlier this year regarding the complaint initially filed in October 2025.

Timeline and Legal Proceedings

The ethics officer clarified that any reminders must be submitted within the four-week window, with a maximum extension of one additional week. The complaint was filed by JSCA member Nandu Patel, who had also approached the Jharkhand High Court challenging the election process. The matter is currently under judicial consideration.

Election Background and Controversy

The JSCA elections held in May 2025 saw Ajay Nath Shahdeo elected as president and former cricketer Saurabh Tiwary as secretary. However, the process came under scrutiny due to allegations that around three dozen members were illegally added to the voter list, raising concerns over the legitimacy of the election outcome.
