New Delhi: Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi flagged off the Social Change Marathon in Delhi on April 12 at 6 am from Mandi House. The event was themed “Run for Ambedkar, Run for Constitution.”
Event Focused on Equality and Constitutional Values
The marathon was organised to promote social justice, equality, and awareness of constitutional principles inspired by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Participants ran from Mandi House to the Ambedkar National Memorial at 26, Alipur Road.
Cash Prizes for Winners
Organisers announced prize money for top finishers. The first-place winner will receive Rs 50,000, the second-place finisher Rs 25,000, and the third-place finisher Rs 15,000.
Historic Venue for Conclusion
The event concluded at the Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial, a site of major historical significance. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar spent his final years there, and it is also the place associated with his Mahaparinirvan in 1956.
Symbolic Public Outreach
The marathon aimed to connect youth and citizens with the legacy of Ambedkar while reinforcing democratic and constitutional values through public participation.
