Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has approved the establishment of a new dialysis unit at MGM Medical College Hospital in Jamshedpur, sanctioning Rs 2 crore 2 lakh 40 thousand under the state plan for the financial year 2026-27.
What Will Be Set Up
The approved funds will be used to purchase 10 haemodialysis machines at a cost of Rs 84 lakh, along with an RO water treatment plant worth Rs 55 lakh. The unit will also be equipped with dialysis beds and chairs, multi-parameter monitors, defibrillators, suction machines, weighing scales, and refrigerators. Additionally, Rs 20 lakh has been set aside for electrical work and Rs 25 lakh for civil and interior work, along with procurement of furniture.
Transparent Procurement Process Mandated
The department’s order specifies that all equipment must be procured transparently through open tender, e-tendering, or the GeM portal.
Who Will Benefit
Once operational, the new dialysis unit will provide improved treatment facilities for kidney patients in Jamshedpur and surrounding areas. The unit is expected to make dialysis services available to poor and needy patients at affordable rates.
