Ranchi: Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has felicitated young shooter Devasi Hembram from Jamtara, who won a gold medal at the Third International Rifle Shooting Championship 2026 held in Thailand, bringing pride to Jharkhand and the nation.

A Champion From Humble Beginnings

Devasi comes from an extremely poor family. Her father works as a daily wage labourer and is unable to provide the financial support needed for her sporting career. Despite the lack of resources, Devasi has achieved remarkable success at the international level, making her achievement all the more inspiring.

Babulal Pledges Support

Babulal Marandi praised Devasi’s achievement and assured that he would extend whatever help is possible at his level to support her journey ahead. He emphasised that every effort must be made to bring talented individuals from Jharkhand to the forefront and give them the backing they deserve.
