Ranchi: The special ACB court heard the anticipatory bail plea of Pramod Kumar Mahto, an accused in the RIMS land fraud case, with the Anti-Corruption Bureau filing its reply and submitting the case diary related to the matter. The petitioner’s counsel sought additional time for arguments, which the court granted, fixing the next hearing for June 18.
Four Accused Arrested in April
The ACB had earlier arrested four accused — Rajkishore Baraik, Kartik Baraik, Rajesh Jha, and Chetan Kumar — on April 7, alleging that they had conspired to prepare a fake genealogy in order to pass off RIMS’ acquired land as private property.
Case Linked to 9.65 Acres of RIMS Land
The ACB had registered an FIR on January 5 following an order from the Jharkhand High Court. The case pertains to the encroachment of approximately 9.65 acres of land acquired by RIMS in 1964-65, on which apartments, shops, and houses were illegally constructed. The illegal structures were later demolished following the High Court’s orders.
