Ranchi: Ahead of Congress’s planned demonstration to surround the BJP office over the NEET paper leak issue, BJP workers gathered in large numbers outside their party headquarters, arming themselves with sticks and flags as tensions between the two parties escalated.
BJP Workers Raise Slogans Against Rahul Gandhi
BJP workers stood outside the party office holding flags and sticks, raising slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” while also chanting “Rahul Gandhi Murdabad” and calling him a thief. Party workers stated that they would welcome Congress workers with sticks, accusing the party of staging the protest purely for political reasons, and declared their intent to resist Congress’s planned gherao.
Tensions Escalate After Earlier Clash at JPSC Office
The confrontation comes after BJP and Congress workers had clashed during a similar protest at the JPSC office on July 22, an incident that further deepened political friction between the two parties. In light of this, heightened security arrangements have been put in place outside the BJP office ahead of today’s demonstration.
Police Deploy Barricades, Water Cannons as Precaution
Anticipating potential unrest, police have set up barricading around the BJP office, reinforced with barbed wire, along with a large deployment of security personnel. Water cannons have also been stationed at the site to help control the situation should it escalate.
