Ranchi: Jharkhand’s weather continues to swing between rain and sunshine, with the capital and several districts experiencing alternating spells of both, as clouds hung over Ranchi since Monday morning while the weather department forecasts rain, thunderstorms and lightning across multiple districts, with heavy rainfall alerts issued in several areas and winds expected to reach speeds of 30-40 kilometres per hour.
Cloud Cover and Rain Expected Across Most Districts on August 31
According to the weather department, skies will remain overcast across nearly all parts of the state on August 31, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms expected in several areas. Heavy rainfall is likely at some locations in Simdega and West Singhbhum, while East Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan and central parts of the state may also witness heavy rain.
Lightning and Strong Wind Warning Issued Statewide
The weather department has issued a statewide warning for lightning and strong winds, advising people to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions. According to the IMD, rainfall is expected to continue into September 1 as well, with light to moderate rain likely across several parts of the state.
Specific Alert Issued for Multiple Districts on September 1
Lightning and winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kilometres per hour are expected on this day too, with a special alert issued for Simdega, West Singhbhum, Ranchi, Khunti, Lohardaga and Gumla, among other areas. From September 2 to 5, the state is expected to see partly cloudy skies, with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms likely in some locations.
Maximum Temperature Expected to Drop by 2-3 Degrees
According to the weather department, maximum temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming days. In Ranchi, the maximum temperature is forecast at 27 degrees Celsius on August 31, with a minimum of 22 degrees, while on September 1, the maximum is expected around 28 degrees Celsius, with the minimum near 23 degrees.
