Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has put an immediate stop to the ongoing anti-encroachment drive on the bypass road just before Birsa Chowk in the capital, directing the Ranchi DC and SSP to halt the district administration’s action.

Encroachers Given Until December 31 to Vacate Voluntarily

Hearing the matter on Friday, Justice Ananda Sen’s bench directed that action be suspended, keeping the upcoming festive season in mind. The court has also instructed the encroachers to voluntarily clear the government land themselves by December 31. Following the order, the administration’s eviction drive on the bypass road has come to a halt for now.

Advocates Represent Petitioners; One Waives Fee

Advocates Indrajeet Sinha and Akhouri Avinash Kumar represented the petitioners before the court, with Advocate Indrajeet Sinha reportedly not charging any fee in the case.

Administrative Action Stayed Till December 31

With the High Court’s order in place, the administrative drive to clear encroachments on HEC Bypass Road will remain suspended until December 31. Further action after this period will depend on directions from the administration and the court.
