Ranchi: Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Sukanta Majumdar has alleged that the Congress and its allies want to bring about “regime change” and anarchy in India on the lines of Bangladesh, and that a false impression is being spread about 13 crore names being deleted under the SIR.
Press Conference at BJP State Office
Speaking at a press conference at the BJP state office in Ranchi on Friday, Majumdar said the Congress, JMM, TMC and Left parties are continuously lying, following the policy of Hitler’s propaganda minister Goebbels. He accused the opposition of weakening democracy by questioning the Election Commission and constitutional institutions without evidence. He said the people would again give the BJP a huge majority under Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2029 general election.
Minister’s Breakdown of Deleted Names
Responding to the opposition’s claim that 13 crore voters’ names were removed, Majumdar said 6.3 crore of them had permanently shifted from one place to another, 2.8 crore had died, as confirmed by government death certificates, 3 crore were found absent from the survey despite BLOs visiting homes three times, and 1 crore names were duplicate entries. He asked why the opposition was interested in protecting 3 crore “infiltrators and fake persons” found missing in the survey, and whether they wanted to change the country’s demography. He said 118 policemen were injured in the July 20 ruckus and that Congress booth level agents attacked women BLOs across the country.
Power Changes Through Votes, Not Street Anarchy
Majumdar said that in a democracy, change of power comes through people’s votes and not through anarchy on the streets. He said Home Minister Amit Shah has given Rahul Gandhi an open challenge to debate the issue in a special session of Parliament.
“SIR Done 12 Times Since 1952, 10 Under Congress”
He said the opposition is creating an impression that SIR is happening for the first time, whereas it has been conducted 12 times since 1952, 10 of them under Congress rule, and the current revision comes after a 20-year gap since 2004. Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi, he said that when the media asks for proof of vote theft, he says he has a “feeling” from inside, while democracy runs on facts and evidence. He added that Gandhi goes to Vietnam or abroad when political agitation is at its peak, and that elections cannot be won with such an attitude. State vice-president Balmukund Sahay, Pratul Shahdeo and Yogendra Pratap Singh were present.
