Dhanbad, Aug 23: “AIIMS Deoghar will fulfil the aim of Jharkhand’s quality health services needed for long,” said Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya while virtually inaugurating OPD services of Deoghar AIIMS from New Delhi on Tuesday morning.
Mandaviya said AIIMS Deoghar would not only provide quality health services to 15 lakh population of Baba Baidyanath Dham but also over 19 crores people of Jharkhand and its adjoining states.
He said AIIMS that has come up at cost of over Rs 1100 crores on the land of Birsa Bhagwan would be able to fulfil needs of tribal people and will come up to their expectations in providing health care.
“ I urge doctors of AIIMS Deoghar to come to expectations of people and whoever comes for treatment attend him with service motive,” he said.
The Union minister said quality health services in Jharkhand is on the priority of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government. Even for combating the Corona pandemic, the Prime Minister allotted Rs 262 crores to Jharkhand.
Mandaviya said the night shelter at Deoghar AIIMS for attendants of patients is another unique feature that will save poor people from harassment of night staying.
Union minister of state for health Bharti Praveen Powar while addressing the function said Deoghar AIIMS would provide modern treatment to patients and help in achieving the mission of healthy Jharkhand.
“ Till 2003 there were only six AIIMS in the country. The Vajpayee government set up six more. In 2014, the Modi government decided to set up AIIMS in each state. Under the plan, in 2018 Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of Deoghar AIIMS,” she said.
Jharkhand health minister Banna Gupta in his virtual address said that AIIMS Deoghar will prove a milestone of Jharkhand’s health services. On the occasion, he said that the mission of both the state and central governments is to improve health services so there should not be politics in development projects.
Jharkhand’s sports and cultural minister Hafijul Hassan while addressing demanded 75% reservation for local people in the appointment of employees in AIIMS. The state has given 233 acres of land, water, power to AIIMS. So jobs should be given to those who donated the land, he added.
Godda MP Nishikant Dubey and Deoghar MLA Narayan Das, Dhanbad MP PN Singh, Bokaro MLA Biranchi Naraya were present on the occasion.
AIIMS Director Dr Saurav Varshney, on the occasion, said that per day 200 patients would be attended in the OPD. Altogether 12 expert doctors would attend to the patients till 5 pm. Registration of patients will start from 8.30 am to 10.30 am on payment of Rs 30. Online registration facilities would be restored in one month.
“ If needed patients could be referred to any AIIMS across the country or Government of India hospitals for better treatment,” he said.
