Ranchi: Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has issued a statement calling the ongoing CID investigation into the JPSC case a mere eyewash, comparing it to the handling of the liquor scam probe, and demanding that the state government hand over the entire matter to the CBI for investigation.

Marandi Alleges Evidence Destruction Instead of Investigation

In his statement, Marandi alleged that instead of conducting a genuine inquiry, the CID has been engaged in destroying evidence related to the JPSC matter. He claimed that the detention of the JPSC exam controller and other individuals was merely an attempt to divert public attention from the case, with authorities targeting junior officials and staff instead of pursuing those actually responsible, effectively steering the investigation in a different direction.

Marandi Questions JPSC Chairman Khyangte, Demands Immediate Detention

Marandi also raised questions over JPSC chairman Khyangte, saying that if the government had the courage, it should immediately detain and question him. He noted that the state government had earlier sent a proposal to the central government seeking an extension for Khyangte in the position of chief secretary, which the central government had rejected.

Opposition Leader Demands Full CBI Probe to Ensure Justice for Students

The Leader of Opposition said the injustice being done to Jharkhand’s students must come to an end, asserting that a superficial investigation would not bring the truth to light. He demanded that the entire JPSC matter, along with alleged corruption throughout Khyangte’s tenure as chairman, be investigated by the CBI to ensure a fair and impartial probe and deliver justice to the youth of Jharkhand.
