1.59 lakh students to take JPSC test tomorrow 

UPSC combined recruitment test also at Gossner College centre

Ranchi, Sept.18: It will be recruitment Sunday tomorrow when the path will be paved for the candidates to get jobs.

Nearly 1.59 lakh candidates will be appearing for JPSC preliminary examination at around 197 examination centres in the entire Ranchi district, including 188 in Ranchi Sadar area while remaining 9 in Bundu sub division and UPSC combined recruitment test at two centres in the Gossner College.

In the wake of the recruitment test, the district administration has given prohibitory orders for free and fair examination.

Section 144 has been invoked in 200m periphery of the examination centres from 6.30am to 7pm tomorrow under which assembly of five and more persons is not allowed. Those participating in the funeral procession and government employees have been prohibited from this. The use of loudspeakers has also been barred. Apart from this, for those deputed for government duty no one is allowed to carry firearms with him.

During the examination, the senior superintendent of police has deputed a sufficient number of police personnel to maintain law and order under the supervision of magistrates.

The JPSC aims to fill up more than 250 vacancies. It was earlier scheduled in May but in the midst of Covid – 19 pandemic it will be held tomorrow. Candidates are required to carry admit cards and photo ID proof with them.

The prelims exam is scheduled to be conducted in two shifts, 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 4pm,  to take the test of two papers (compulsory), General studies-I and General studies –II. Both the papers are set according to the syllabus and questions will be of objective type, there will be no negative marking, exam duration will be of two hours each for both papers and each paper will be of 200 marks making the papers of total 400 marks.

Candidates are expected to take tests in a fair manner. Candidates are not allowed to use unfair means in the examination hall.  It is important that candidates should abide by all covid preventive measures and protocols during the exam.

Although, prelims is the screening test only all those who qualify will be allowed to appear in the mains exam.

UPSC combined recruitment test will be organized in two shifts. The first shift is from 9.30am to 11.30am while the second shift is 2 pm to 4 pm.
