Hyderabad pacer T. Natarajan has tested positive for COVID-19. This news has come 4 hours and 30 minutes before the match against Delhi Capitals. However, the BCCI has said that the match will be held on a predetermined schedule. Natarajan recently came back from a knee injury and now was sent in isolation with all-rounder Vijay Shankar and five coaching staff.
The rest of the contingent including the close contacts underwent RT-PCR tests at 5AM local time this morning and the test reports are negative. As a result, tonight’s game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals will go ahead at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai,” the official IPL mail stated.
SRH Captain Kane Williamson and team management have a tough task to prepare a balanced team against DC tonight in the absence of Natarajan and Vijay Shankar.
Notably in May, the first season of the ILP was postponed after several players and support staff tested positive. After this, the board had decided to conduct Phase-2 of the league in the UAE.
