Ahead of the upcoming home series against Australia, BCCI has made changes to the Indian U-19 team, dropping Bengal leg-spinner Rohit Yadav due to an age-related fraud case, with Aryan Savasani and Tanmay Baloda brought in as replacements.
Aryan and Tanmay Named for ODI and Multi-Day Squads Respectively
BCCI announced on Tuesday that Aryan has been selected for the ODI series, while Tanmay has been included in the multi-day squad. BCCI had imposed a two-year ban on Rohit Yadav on Friday. Yadav had been part of the Indian U-19 team that toured Sri Lanka in July, where he played one youth Test and two youth ODIs against Sri Lanka in July 2026.
Rohit’s Strong Performances Preceded Sudden Removal
Rohit had bowled impressively in the youth Test, picking up 6 wickets, and had also taken a wicket across the two youth ODIs against Sri Lanka. However, following the discovery of age-related discrepancies, he was immediately removed from the team.
