Ranchi, Sept.25: Latecomers at circle and block offices of Namkum in the outskirts of the city today suffered as Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chhavi Ranjan did a surprise inspection to take first-hand information regarding the welfare work being carried out in the area.

DC Ranjan marked the attendance of those who came late without prior information and warned them of dire consequences in the case of repetition of the mistake in the future.

The DC came to know about the delayed arrival of the employees in the office after he verified the attendance register and application submitted by employees for leave, a circle office employee said.

“After the DC found some of the employees missing and also did not find their application for leave, he marked them absent,” the employee said, adding that inspection created panic among latecomers while joy among those performing their duties properly.

Later, the DC visited vaccination centres in Namkum and collected first-hand information from vaccinators. He directed to create awareness about vaccination and asked the officials concerned with vaccination to ensure proper physical distancing at vaccination centres.
