New Delhi, Oct.13: For the second day in a row, petrol prices stayed constant on Wednesday, October 13. The rates have been raised for seven days in a row prior to this. According to Indian Oil Corporation, petrol prices in the national capital crossed the 104-mark on Monday after being raised by 30 paise from 104.14 per litre to 104.44 per litre, while diesel rates were raised by 35 paise from 92.82 to 93.17 per litre.
In Mumbai, petrol prices on Monday increased by 29 paise to 110.41 per litre, while diesel prices increased by 37 paise to 101.03 per litre. According to the state-run oil refiner, Mumbai has the highest fuel prices of the four metro cities. The rates vary across the states due to value-added tax or VAT.

State-run oil refineries such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum adjust fuel prices on a daily basis, taking into account international crude oil prices and rupee-dollar exchange rates. Every day at 6 a.m., any adjustments in gasoline and diesel prices take effect.
Brent crude declined 0.29 percent to $83.18 a barrel on Monday, just off a three-year high of $84.6, while U.S. crude fell 0.2 percent to $80.48 a barrel, off a seven-year high of $82.18.
