Ranchi, Oct 20: With a continuous increase in fuel prices the demand for electric vehicles is at a peak and the majority of the e-vehicle showrooms in the capital are unable to deliver vehicles to the public. The situation came due to the coming up of various economical and eco-friendly scooters in the market.
A Hero Electric dealer said that there is a continuous increase in the demand for electric vehicles from July 2021 which has attracted huge sales figuring up to 60 vehicles per month.
“The demand is so high that a customer who is going to make the booking now will get the vehicle in late December and we have a huge number of booking for Diwali already,” the Hero dealer said.
There is a sudden decrease in the petrol vehicles in the market because of the increased price of vehicles and registration fees in the city with ever-increasing fuel prices.
A Bajaj dealer said that there has been a 30% to 35% increase in the prices of the vehicles due to shifting from BS-IV to BS-VI. Moreover, the Jharkhand government has increased the registration fees of the vehicles which has created a decline in the sale of vehicles.
On the current issue of shifting consumers from petrol-driven vehicles to electric vehicles, an expert said that the time has arrived where everybody has to realize that the dependency on petrol is to be shifted to other environment-friendly modes.
“The automobile companies of India should look into the matter and start manufacturing environment-friendly vehicles but with reliable mileage which remains a huge concern for the companies in India,” an expert said.
