Armed miscreants commit robbery at businessman’s house at Kuju

Ramgarh, Oct.30: More than a half-dozen armed dacoits carried out a robbery in Detmamod, Kuju OP region, yesterday night. At around 12:00 a.m., around 8 criminals broke into businessman Shiva Mahto’s house near the CCL Kuju General Manager’s office and committed robbery.

 

Around 11:30 p.m., Shiva Mahto’s wife came out to tie the cow in the house. It was then when the criminals invaded the residence with weapons in their hands. Shiva Mahto’s wife and two children were held captive in the house and kept in a room by the crooks. Shiva Mahto was present in the house at the moment. The crooks robbed the house for 15 minutes.

 

During this time, the criminals also got hold of the house’s cell phone. They fled the premises shortly after the event. As soon as Shiva received the information, he immediately called the Superintendent of Police (SP), Prabhat Kumar and informed him.

 

The Kuju police station in-charge, Awdhesh Kumar, was promptly dispatched by the SP to the scene. He arrived on the scene and began the investigation. Following that, a technical cell from the district headquarters was dispatched to Shiva Mahato’s residence.

 

Shiva Mahto informed that gold worth more than Rs. 3 lakhs, cash, valuable clothes and utensils, all worth around Rs 15 lakhs, have been looted by the criminals.
