Dhanbad: Nov 2:  After eight months, teachers of medical colleges, doctors, and the health staff of hospitals will have to start registering biometric attendance again.

Director-in-chief, health services, Dr Marshal Aind has in this regard shot off a letter to the principal and superintendent of all five medical colleges, superintendent of Itki Aarogyashala Ranchi, regional health directors and civil surgeons of all 24 districts to ensure their teachers, doctors, Paramedical staff including outsourcing employees to make biometric attendance.

In the wake of the outbreak of Corona pandemic the state government had banned biometric attendance on March 8, 2020 to avoid any danger of Covid infection. Since then teachers in medical colleges and doctors in hospitals have been making their attendance mark on the register.

Official sources said the health department has issued an order for biometric attendance on the directive of Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh.

The Chief Secretary in his letter to all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, and secretaries of all the departments has said that since exemption from biometric attendance in 2020 reportedly officers and staff do not come to offices in time.

“For maintaining discipline in offices and implementation of the state government projects it has to ensure that officers and staff arrive in the office at the scheduled time. Office time is scheduled from 10 am to 6 pm.  So, ensure the order is implemented,” said the Chief Secretary in his letter.
